Subaru Impreza Trim Levels

When it comes to purchasing a new vehicle, one of the hardest aspects is choosing a trim level that best matches your needs. Between every model, there will be several variations in performance, technology, styling, and much more.

The 2017 Subaru Impreza comes with four different trim levels-the same for both the sedan and hatchback model. To help our Middletown, Odessa, and Dover customers decide which best fits their lifestyle, the Winner Subaru team has put together this detailed Subaru Impreza trim level review.

The 2.0i

Even when choosing the base trim of the 2017 Subaru Impreza, drivers will be granted exceptional performance, safety, and much more. Unless otherwise stated, all 2.0i specs can be found in the forthcoming trims.

Performance Specs

Fuel economy is important in a sedan, and the Impreza has plenty of it. With its 2.0L four-cylinder engine, it can maintain 32 mpg highway and 24 mpg city.1 Meanwhile, it will still generate a powerful 153 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque.

Even when the optimized 2.0i engine is paired with the standard five-speed manual transmission, the sedan still qualifies as a partial zero emissions vehicle (PZEV).

Subaru vehicles are known for their superior handling, and the 2017 Impreza is no different. The innovative, symmetrical all-wheel drive grants it exceptional stability. This control is pushed even further when features like vehicle dynamics control and a traction control system are added.

Safety Features

As you might expect, the Impreza comes equipped with an advanced airbag system, which comprehensively covers the interior of the car. No matter where passengers are seated, they have ample protection.

Whiplash protection front seat and rear head restraints have also been added to prevent neck or head injuries. A rearview camera is installed, too.

The interior of the 2.0i is trimmed in soft cloth, including manually adjustable front seats. A multifunction display and instrument cluster have also been added for the driver's convenience.

Pairing with the four-speaker audio system found in the 2.0i is STARLINK™ 6.5 is simple and seamless. This package also includes a 6.5-inch LCD touchscreen, a USB port, an auxiliary jack, and several music streaming and app integrating services.

Passengers can connect their phone using Apple CarPlay™ or Android Auto™. Here, they can access their apps or music libraries. They can also play music through Pandora® radio or the Aha™ app.

The 2.0i Premium

Several new features can be found in the 2.0i Premium trim, particularly in the safety category.

Performance Specs

In this trim level, the manual transmission is swapped for a more efficient Lineartronic® continuously variable transmission (CVT), which boosts mileage to 38 mpg highway and 28 mpg city.1

Safety Features

In the 2.0i Premium, drivers will benefit from the STARLINK Safety and Security™ system. This comprehensive suite includes several intuitive safety features such as:

  • Auto collision notification
  • SOS emergency assistance
  • Enhanced roadside assistance
  • Stolen vehicle recovery

Heated seats are added at this level for a bit of extra comfort as well as CVT paddle shifters.

The audio system is upgraded as well, increasing the number of speakers to six.

The 2.0i Sport

The major differences in the Sport come in terms of interior styling, but new entertainment features are now added.

Performance Specs

The CVT once again switched out for a five-speed manual transmission, this time reducing mileage to 30 mpg highway and 22 mpg city.1

Active torque vectoring has been added to this trim level to improve cornering and speed management.

The upholstery in this trim is upgraded to Sport cloth with red contrast stitching. The steering wheel and shifter handle are now wrapped in leather, too, and aluminum-alloy pedal covers have been added.

This level also features a color multifunction display and easy push-button start.

STARLINK entertainment is upgraded to the eight-inch version in the Sport trim with a bigger LCD touchscreen and even more features. Drivers will now be able to use hands-free texting and cloud-based apps like Yelp and iHeart® radio. Navigation is also available for your convenience.

The 2.0i Limited

At this trim level, transmission and mileage are the same as those found in the 2.0i Premium. However, several new features have also been added.

Safety Features

Drivers can also choose to add EyeSight® safety in the Limited. This suite features:

  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Pre-collision braking
  • Lane-keep assist
  • Additional blind spot detection

In the Limited trim, cloth seating is upgraded to all leather trim with a powered driver's seat and automatic climate control.

Drivers can now choose to update their audio system as well, adding in the Harman Kardon system, which features eight speakers and 423 watts of power.
